Default Thinking of buying a range rover! Questions

Howdy, This is my first time to post here . any who... I have always wanted a L/R and until recently I have never been in the position to buy one. My 2000 chevy is about to crap out and I found a 1996 Range Rover that I fell in love with. 80kmi, 18" wheels, in dash dvd player and screen, m/t's, brush guard, new paint(same color as the original red, that is what he said the original color was), immaculent interior, and sunroof. all that for $9,599, is that a good deal ? What are some things that I should look for? I have heard stories of "L/R's motors arent anything but trouble after 80k mi, is that true? I dont live any where near an L/R dealer, and need to know if I can get regular services done at the local oil & lube? Would this be a good dependable daily driver, and light duty trail rider? Thanks for opinions!

Heres a pic:

HEy I have a 1997 Range Rover
The most common things to look for is in the Air suspension. Check to see if the air springs leak/valve block try raising it up and down. Air suspension parts are expensive. Ask also if it has had a coil spring conversion done to it. Some times people do that so they dont have to put out the money to get air suspension parts. Check also on the passenger side to see if the carpet is wet, it might have an airconditioning leak. I have been very impressed with Land rover products i love them. Just make sure you keep up on the regular maintence and you should be fine. Good luck and let me know if i can help.

Well........ I decided not to get the 10 year old Range Rover, and bought a 2000 Disco II! It was the same price with about the same amount of miles!
