Hi. I've got an 03 Disco with 68k. CEL came on over the summer and the exhaust made your eyes tear it was running so rich, I was told it was an o2 sensor issue so I replaced all 4 in early Sept. The CEL light is back on and has a nice list of codes, smells bad but not as bad as before:
1074
1050
1174
1412
1415
0159
I see 1050 and 0159 are RS o2s. I've emailed Atlantic to see if there is a warranty on the sensors, I'm crossing my fingers. The truck could use a tune up and vc gaskets as well so I know that is not helping me. If plan on replacing the 02s again but with all these codes I assume something caused the new sensors to go bad. SAI pump and valve? MAF? Thanks.
Ricky
The 2 1400 codes are SAI, I don't see anything to make me think the MAF is bad so leave it alone.

if you THINK your truck needs a tune up then chances are its past due. You dont want to wait until you need a tune up do one.
if I were you I would:
1. change the plugs (I run bosch platinum 4),
2. Spark plug wires (magnecor wires)
3. Seafoam treatment (do a search)
4. Clean throttle body
5. Air filter (if needed)
6. you VC gaskets may just need tightening, (use a 12point 1/4 drive 8mm socket and see if that helps.
Clear the codes and scan again after everything has been done.
This might be a simple case of lack of maintenance so you should be ok after you take care of those items.
1. how long have you owned this rig?
2. have you rebuilt the front drive shaft yet?
3. is your 03 within the vin range identified by rover to have oil pump issues?
Mods: Oil Pressure Gauge, ScanGaugeII, CDL, Electric CDL Actuator, RoverRacks Rear ladder, Limb Risers, ToddCo Front Drive Shaft, DI Wiper Arms, G4 Upper Rear Lamp Guards, No Amigos since 11/09
Coming soon: Install Greg Davis rear bumper, Replace 4 ball joints, Replace belt tensioners and pulleys.
For the future: .... wait and see....
Thanks guys. I knew the answer was take care of maintenance first, Ii just don't like that answer . 4-5 hours and $300-$400 (and alot of cursing) isn't bad to fix the leaks and tune it up. Reading the boards these trucks seem so problamatic that has soured me a little on the truck some though. After the investment I may get new codes for my investment.
It is better than the $900 the shop wants. Luckily I don't have a bad vin that's a plus.

A Rover is a Rover and will never let you forget it, but it is so worth it when you go wheeling and show everybody else up. Learn where to buy your parts at a good price and how to do some of the work and you'll be fine.

It's a small investment in the future.
Once you get caught up on the maintenance take small breath and start the pro-active stuff - fluids - hoses - lubricants - etc. It's a constant battle, but worth it. I had a small boy run up to the truck and say "Wow cool truck" he wanted to sit in it so bad, I let him. He may want one now forever, it made me feel good all day.
