Good luck with your plan hope you don't hit any deep mud/water with that dap set up unless you keep a snorkle face mask and shovel in the back for winch use ![]() Anyways to each their own have fun and happy winching...

I have seen those ( actually there are 2 for sale on the "OTHER" disco web, but I was told the craddle is heavy as S#@T, and even if I do it, the A_Frame can't be mounted.
I am not sure why I've got this idea to make the set up I want, it is maybe because it is such a PITA, or maybe unique look. Mike it is RIGHT on the Money with his assesment, but I guess my off-roading is mild. Thanks for your help Quote:

Maybe I did missread, I was trying to OBTAIN more information as to why they are UNCONTROLLABLE OFF ROAD ( simply trying to learn ), I have gone off road ( mild ) and I did not feel it, so, in other words , trying to figure out what am I doing wrong.
God bless my SCUBA lessons *LOL* Thanks again ![]() Quote:

With old worn out springs factory springs you'll find that when you add the spacers it changes the handling dynamic of the vehicle. Your moving the center of gravity up with no increase in spring rate to compensate. This will allow the vehicle to wallow side to side considerably. Which can make the already top heavy and lean happy disco even more so.

I understand now. ( maybe the reason why I did not feel much is my low miles 29k, so maybe they are not too tired ).
Thank you again Quote:

the G4 does not have the A bar but the G4 LE does all you would need is the tray and uprated springs and shocks of course

The discrete winch mount works very well, and you can still have an "a" bar and steering guard all fitted in the same location. I also replaced my front springs with genuine "winch springs" from Land Rover, which they bought out to compensate for the front mounted winch, like on the Orange beauty above ! Anyway, if your interested, take a look here ![]() www.discovery2.co.uk / T-Max Winch |
