'04 Disco Passenger Seat Power Adjust??? - Land Rovers Only

I LOVE this forum and my Disco!

I'm on SE Disco number two, having sold my first baby (a '00 w/ 60K).

Driving an '04 SE I picked up a few months ago with only 22K on her and I noticed that my passenger seat only adjusts fore and aft (not to mention an incessant squeak when no one's in the seat, which I can't diagnose).

When I went to the dealer for my most recent service (having told them that I used to own a '00), I informed them about the seat not adjusting properly. Their response was, "The seat only adjusts fore and aft."

Am I being fed a plate of BS?

Does anyone have an '04 SE who can confirm that the passenger seat DOES in fact adjust in all of the directions as the driver's seat.

I know the S model only is 8-way on driver side and fore/aft/recline on the passenger side. HSE is 8 way on both sides- but the SE? I dunno. Good question.

SE only adjusts on the drivers side. They had to do something to differentiate the models. The only thing seperating the HSE for the SE is the NAVIGATION was standard on the HSE, memory seats for the driver, 8 way seats on both sides and the KRYTON 6 spoke 18" rims. I think you could get everything above for the HSE optional on the SE except for the 8way drivers and passenger seats with memory for the drivers seat.

On my 04 SE the driverside is 3-way (fore-aft, tilt and recline) passenger (my usually position as the wife loves it) is 2-way with fore-aft and recline only. Also driver side has lumbar adjustment.

The eight way power on the passenger seat is an option for the se. My 01 is an se and it has eight way on both seats. If you look at the switches it will tell you what the vehicle has. Mine is not memory though.

My 04's had the same buttons on the passenger side and they even moved the same (had up/down on the bottom) but it just didn't do anything when you tried to tilt or raise/lower.
