Id fix any leaks before doing any mods.

They are known for intake and heads leaking.

Before you start mods you should always fix the vehicle first so the lack of mainenance doesnt hit you hard down the road or on the trail.

hehe.....

welcome to LRO greenrover, and welcome to the "Non-ACE/SLS, no backseats and leather Disco II" club!!!....its exclusive you know Sweet rover!, lots of potential....do you have any plans on modifying it yet?..perhaps start with a lift?

Anyhow, it will look great modded....off-road wise, you will not regret your purchase....not only did you get a great vehicle, but you have bought yourself a ticket into land rover's deep heritage and enthusiast crowd.

Congrats on the purchase

So what do you plan on doing with your new toy??
Are you going to enjoys some of those Arizona trails?
How many miles on the old speedo?
Bought a good year, you can modify the t/case and regain the CDL which will give you even better traction.
Have fun
Mike

Just a thought. Sounds like you have been doing some planning and you may want some more guidance.
As an example, you lift, 4"s will be a problem, front and rear drive shafts will probably be needed, you are going to have caster problems to correct be it new longer radius arms or something.
33" tires will kill you gas mileage and power, they will also be hard on your diff's.
Safari Guards are not always the best way to go, quite expensive, bad customer service and no really that strong. I have seen a number of their sliders bend so bad that the doors couldn't be opened easily.
I don't see you mentioning converting your t/case so your CDL works, that is by far the first thing you should look at if you are planning on wheeling.
Mike J.

What i am trying to say is take a little more time to look at all the options.

Mike,

I am honestly looking at rovertyms bumpers because i like the slimline style and their 3in springs, and either their sliders or slickrocks. Which do you recommend?

I had the intention of replacing radius arms and suchi also knew that the driveshafts would be needed but i am at work and wanted to reply, just didnt have a chance to go into detail.

What set-up are you running?

--Funrover- LOL i'm 25 and don't plan on having kids for awhile that's my bike and my g/f's bike is all pink. I love the color to thanks!

Mike thanks again for the advice I know you guys will be very valuable to me in this journey!

I am running OME's 751 and Rovers insolators giving me 3"s and SLS in the rear with RTE's 2" spacer and height adjusters.
So I have a good 3"s, running 265's, 4:11's, rear detroit and front T.T. along with H.D. axles.
If you stay at 3 "s you will not have to deal with drive lines and radius arm adjustments.
One thing you should have checked right away are the front double cardon joints on the front drive shaft. They come from the factory with out grease fittings and go bad very quickly, usually taking out the tranny in the process.
I like RTE's bumpers, they just released their new DII rear bumper, really nice. They make a good slider.
On my truck, 3 years ago when I got the urge to build my truck, I could find what I wanted so I had a shop here in town make my bumpers and sliders.
Have fun with the mods.
Mike
