Default 2000 Discover intermittent no start

I have a 2000 Disco II with 134,000 miles. It has recently developed a intermittent starting problem. This has occurred three times, after sitting for two to three days it will not start. The engine turns over with no problem but will not catch. I have verified that it is getting spark. The plugs smelled of gas but where not noticeably wet when pulled after several minutes of cranking. After several applications of starter fluid the motor will catch but runs very rough for a minute or two before smoothing out and running fine. Once it is running it drives fine and the problem does not immediately come back. Any ideas?
Thanks
Patrick

Crank Sensor Maybe? Running rough? Plugs and wires? Not sure if a bad crank sensor would cause the truck to run rough..

How old are the plugs and wires, what brand?
They may be part of the rough run but I will be you have a crank sensor failing. Do you have a check light on?

Check light came on this morning on the way to work. Will go by AutoZone tonight to see if they can pull the codes.

Changed plugs, turned into a several hour project, 2 holes where cross threaded by PO. Had to chase them. New plugs and the service engine light went out. Will see if the no sart problem comes back.

If you continue to have a start issue, your crank sensor is the biggest possibility.
