From what I've read about them some people start getting misfires, some people think they're great. Seems the latter always suggest you use new plug wires and get goods ones if you're going to use +4's. This makes me assume they must need lots of juice to work right. Frankly I'd just use regular plugs, I can't fathom that these will provide any miracles as far as performance or gas mileage are concerned.

Bosh Platium Plus 4's do require a good amount of voltage to generate a massive amount of spark, much more then standard plugs can make. Yhe end result is if you use them, they will make alot more low end torque which turns into a little harder pulling truck.
I have found that people with older RRC's and semi warn out coils need to replace the coil to a higher out put of voltage, and then hang on cause there will be a difference. I am currentl running the Plus 4's with Magnacor wires, they have been on my truck for over 60K miles and I have never had any problem or misfires. If you need plugs and you are replacing your wires also, put on a set of 4's, if you don't like them, Bosh will give you your money back, who else does that? Mike |

Random Misfires on multiple cylinders. I have heard this both ways with new Magnecor wires and with old stock Land Rover wires. I would email Chris St Louis for more detailed information. He did a study on using the Bosch 4+, and it was unanimous that they caused more problems than they were worth. You can find Chris on Dweb. (He is a veteran of the Land Rover world, much like Disco Mike he has about 20+ years in the business). Either way good luck, Bosch does honor their products (I had to return a reman alternator to them over 4 times- they gave me no hassles during the process(es)).
I have always used the stock Champion plugs, they have never let me down.

Just seen one too many newbies over on DWEB post about their random misfires, CEL on, and then of course having to have the engine pulled after using the 4+. Here is some info that you might find of service: Quote:

They remind of the K&N filter....eventually that thing makes the CEL come on. Too much oil, then the MAF is gone.... Good luck!
