Default 99DII Bucking & Kicking in 4th. HELP!!!

What I've got; My wife's 99DII, 141000 miles. Within the last two or three weeks under light throttle in 4th gear at approx. 20-30 mph it bucks and kicks like the transmission is hunting or having problems shifting. Also, under hard acceleration, it hesitates intermittantly with an occasional muffled backfire. Never throws a light. Had it for about a year and it has run smooth as silk. Still gets about 330 miles per tank average. No codes. Sometime in it's recent past before me the plugs/wires and front driveshaft were replaced. What I did when I bought it; new brakes, fuids/filters everywhere, greased driveshafts, new belt, pulleys, cooler lines, water pump, thermostat, all water hoses. At first, I thought I was the next victim of the K&N filter I put in it a year ago and had toasted the MAF. So I pulled the MAF and paper filter from my 99DII and swapped them. No luck. Mine runs fine and hers still is acting up! In reading through what seems like hundreds of threads it seems like the common culprits might be: MAF/TPS/Plugs/Wires/O2 Sensors/Stepper Motor/Impending Driveshaft Failure. I am ruling out the MAF/Plugs/Wires, as it has run great for over a year. I cannot completely rule out the drive shaft as I do not know how many miles are on it although it feels tight. What do you guy's think should be my first plan of action? Should I try swapping the TPS and Stepper motor from mine or is there something I might have missed?
Thanks for all the advice/help - Bill

Youve got a 99, so to rule out the front driveshaft, just unbolt it, lock the CDL on top of the TC (youll need a 10mm endwrench), and go for a drive.
