Just go to a Best Buy or similiar shop where they install radios, they have the keys.

I just saw these at Walmart today, back by automotive/electronics. It's like $5.95. These use to be hard to find but are pretty common now. Or best buy, car toys their everywhere.
Yes, I live at Walmart...and GO Plano Wildcats! My Alma Matter - State Champs in everything.
I bought the ones at Walmart and they didn't work. I went to one BestBuy and they didn't have them. I'll go to a bigger BB and see if they have them and if not probably just ask them to pop it out.
My amigos in the barrio wanted $25 to yank it, which I thought was excessive... Am I just being TOO Scottish?

This may seem out there, but I actually made my own using two old valve feeler gauges. I just followed the picture in the RAVE manual and it took a few trimmings, but they worked really well. Just a head's up, double check your system to make sure you don't need a code to remove, otherwise I believe your LR won't start. Take care

I would have done it for the $25 since everyone is out of the keys. Good tip, make sure there is no removal code, to avoid issues. For $60 BB will install the new one. Sometimes it's worth it to have someone else do it.
In the end tried one more stereo shop up the road. I live right next to a large Hispanic community and this is the one that has the loudest installs going on, low-riders etc. The shop is full of old TVs he's working on. He's old school, why throw it out when you can fix it type.
$10 and two minutes later he had it yanked! The two tools he used were different from each other - I think it was more a case of skill. Once out I could see how it works. Pushing the key in forces up a 'latch', the hooks on the tools are just to get some purchase inside the unit - there must be tabs they pull up against. He just shoved his fingers in the cassette slot and pulled...
Said he would charge $40 to install the new stereo including routing the Aux cable into glove box - how could I refuse?
But will he be able to handle an anal retentive Scotsman hovering over him?

Will post a report once I get everything working.

Somethings are better left to the pro's. Good solution, I take your not in North Dallas! (Go Wildcats). Good price on the install too!
