Default aux audio via AM/FM antenna

I have the 04' disco nav radio. Does anyone know if this will take a standard AM/FM antenna input? For some radio stations it displays limited song/artist info. Is this RDS or something else?

I'm looking into these iPod integration kits. They switch the antenna inputs and allow use of both radio and aux input (potentially displaying track info). I think some of these might even allow use of the steering wheel controls to change track. The FM transmitters suck - this is wired up directly to the stereo. This seems to be a better and cheaper alternative to the high end devices that plug into the CD changer plug. I have an aux input rigged up with the CD changer plug but something like this is pretty appealing. Any experience?

I purchsed a Ipod adapter for my 04 as well with the Nav system. You have to get a specific one with the Becker Radio. I will look for the one I purchased it works pretty good. Most of the 04's the companies recommend going into the dash to the back of the radio to connect your interface. The only complaint I have about this model is that it does not charge you Ipod while it is connected. This one was one of the few that worked with the Nav system. I will search for the company and get back to you.

CAR DATA PAGE This is their web site, I highly suggest you call them from a cell phone, their tech guys will walk you through the steps to determine the proper one. Evidently there are different Becker models out there.

Thanks Pipe, so you are using one of the Blitzsafes that replaces the CD player? What kind of functionality are you getting? Can you navigate through your iPod using the nav radio's CD changer controls, change disk, change track etc? Or does it display track info on the screen?

Right now I have a $0 setup for a 1/8" jack that replaces my CD player. I want to see if I can find something that lets me retain both radio & CD changer and hopefully has some more nifty features to boot. I guess alot of these cheap FM modulators have autoswitchers now that block out all other FM stations and play direct from input when it is playing. Might be my best bet if I can't get one that lets me use the steering wheel controls or LCD display.

I'm using a 2g iPod touch which kinda complicates the charging/interfacing issues. I can't even charge it in my car via USB without getting this ridiculous noise/interference.

You are able to use the single disc in dash CD player and all nav features. Your disc changer becomes disconnected from the head unit, all Ipod controlls will be on the Ipod accept volume. Your steering wheel volume will still work with the Ipod connected. The rest of the steering wheel controlls will work as normal when connected to the radio or traffic system. The Ipod connects through the main port not the earphone jack for better audio. I have a 5Generation Ipod Video
