Hi again, just wanting to know if anyone can advise on a brand of matched shocks/springs to provide an actual 2" lift on a DII. I've heard of OME, and the like, but I'd like to hear what anyone on this forum thinks...Thanks again!!
Oh, what is a good brake system upgrade for my DII?? |

I use DBA rotors with Kevlar pads- that's the only decent DII upgrade out there that's available.
For a real actual 2" lift, the Big Blues work well. The spring rates are low enough that you can even use stock shocks with them if you don't want to pony up the cash for new shocks right away. RTE's tend to lift higher and are stiffer rates- I don't think you can get an actual 2" since they tend to lift 3+. OME makes some, but I don't recall which model #'s are the 2" version.

I agree with Steve regarding the brakes, I ave been using them for 3 plus years with gret success and wear.
On the springs, I really like the OME's, especially the 751 in front. They hold up well, handle a HD front bumper if you go to one and ride well. You have a couple of options on the rear springs so read up, https://www.expeditionexchange.com/ome/indexsprings.htm Check out this web site for some good OME reading make your decision and buy them from Steve. for new springs and shocks plan on spending about 600 bucks! you can go cheaper, and you can also go more expensive, but 600 is a good average price for spings and shocks...

To lift my RRC, which is not driving currently,
, I spend $250 on used Rovertym springs, $162 on Pro Comp extended length shocks from DAP. These prices are including the shipping. However the used spings I got, were from another LRO member's D1, now mounted on my 94 RRC LWB.

I don't carry OME any more- I have a few leftover things like steering dampers etc, but don't plan to carry them anymore. Lots of places do though, so shop it around if you go that route. My Defender and my 72 Rangie have OME's on them and my only complaint is the finish comes off and they rust FAST. No sagging though and they ride pretty nice. My DI and DII are on BB's.
