Thats a decent amount of miles for how old it is.. at that age though, rust shouldn't be an issue.. 50k is the end of the factory warranty, so does it have an extended? Try to get all the service records, make sure they changed the oil at least every 7k miles (LR recommended, even tho 3-4k is better).. At around 50-60k the front drive shaft usually goes.. which is about 700 or so at the dealer, or 350 for a better aftermarket one.

Default Found a second Disco...

I'm also looking at another 03 Discovery SE7 that has 48000 miles on it. It's from a Land Rover dealer and they offer a 12000 mile one year warrenty on top of the factory. I know that I can but more warrenty. This Disco is really what I'm looking for. It's a SE7, has all the bells and whistles and it has a DVD player. It's the right colors inside and out. The dealer is asking 26,999.00 Is that a fare price? What should i try to get it for?

Thanks again for all your help...Mike

eh, i've heard people being able to buy new '04s for 27k .. if you're at all interested in offroading, i'd recommend that you really try to find an 04 as it has center differential locking.. plus it has a better engine. What are your primary needs/wants for the truck?

i was on either cars.com or autotrader and saw an 04 for 27,375. Keep looking a bit, or if the 03 is what you want try to talk them down a few K...

Default Thanks for the info...

Hey guys thanks again for giving me some tips. I'm not looking to go crazy off roading. I've always loved Rovers and they are just so comfortable. I have two kids so a seven seater would be nice. The one I'm looking at is a SE7. It has a few add on's that make it nicer, running boards and a DVD player. The Land Rover dealer is asking 25,995. What would you offer? It has 48k on it. It has warrenty till 50k or 4yrs and the dealer offers another 1 year or 12k on top of that. Some one said the 04 has a better motor. I thought the 03 and 04 had the same motor? What's better about the 04? Anyway I'm going this week to try and bargain, wish me luck....and thanks again...Mike

may the engines are the same, im not sure.. the thing that is definitely better about the 04 though is the fact that it has factory center differential locking.

Get the 04 with the factory center diff lock(CDL)!!I know your saying your not interested in offroading now, but you might very well get bitten by the bug after purchasing one if you happen to go on a dealer sponsored event. I also am pretty sure that the 04 model D2's had the 4.6L in it as opposed to the 4L, not 100% on that one though. Just keep looking around as there are plenty of deals to be had. The prices and mileage you state seem to be a bit pricy. Good luck.

Default Motors are the same...

Hey all, I'm leaning to the 04. I did find out that the 03 and 04 motors are in fact the same. The big plus with the 04 is the center locking diff. The economy is killing me on my trade and that's the hold up. If I could just get decent money for my trade then I could do the deal. Thanks again for all of your help guys. It's nice to know that there's a place to go and get straight answers on Rover stuff.... I'll let you know when I get my Discovery....Mike

Default 2004 Se7

I just bought a 2004 SE7 with 21k miles for $29,000. I think the prices you have seen are pretty high for a car with that many miles. I bought mine using an auto broker that specializes in Land Rovers. If you want, I can give you his contact info. He will ship your new rover anywhere you want.
