Default Can't seem to figure out what this plug is.

Hi Guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster.

Thanks to your wealth of knowledges I picked up an '04 SE7 last summer and have been slowly working on it.

Just not getting to the source of a leak and I found this torn rubber as the likely culprit. I just can't seem to figure out what it's called to replace it.

I want to say its part of the engine sump. The location of it is approx 6-8 inches from the front driveshaft.

I can put some more up later, camera battery is charging.

Thanks!!

Matt

Time for a replacement plug from the dealer.

That looks like the plug for the inspection port on the bell housing. That wouldn't be the source of your leak. Have you checked your valve covers? They were probably leaking on the showroom floor. It's all part of being British.

Bell Housing plug. Thanks!
Yes... time for a new one.

I just tightened down the valve covers the other day and did an engine and under carriage spray down. Drove about 30 miles, came home an checked. I just had a little oil on the bottom most bolts below this plug as well as around the plug... so naturally I thought it was a suspect.

Thanks, I'll keep looking for my leak!
