Car repair on 2000 DiscoII

I have a thermostat to be replaced, 2 wipers, synthetic oil change, front brakes and a part?? (at the rear of the car that is causing a coolant system to leak, that needs to be replaced - he said this service alone is 600(
I took it in to the guy that has been taking care of my car for the last 4-5 years. My car has 150k miles on it and will be driving it across county from California. My question is could all this work cost 1500.00 and is it worth it? I did have the last major service at 130k. I have tired to take good care of my car and I just can't believe it is this much....can anyone give me some advice? Thank you.

You need to be a lot more specific about what is leaking coolant. All the stuff you have asked about are easy, why are you not doing them????????????
