I'm looking to put in a used Factory CD Changer into a 2001 Disco. I know the harness should be under the passenger seat. I'm wondering where though. I've looked and there seems to be a lot of wiring for the power seats. Has anyone had experience installing one?? Could it be tucked in under the carpet??

"Is my DSII pre-wired for the Land Rover CD Changer? It depends. All early US-spec leather DSIIs are pre-wired for the CD Changer. Cloth DSIIs are not. All but the first Duragrain (SD) DSIIs are not. The LE is not. For those that are not pre-wired, some additional labor is required, and you MAY need to purchase the CD Changer Brackets. The part #'s you need are as follows. You can get these from your Land Rover Parts Department:
CD Changer Data Cable P/N: LRN50520 $12.50 CD Changer Brackets P/N: LRN50530 $29.03 With thanks to Justin Dermody Last updated: Thu 17 Oct 2002, 01:50 IST." I found this on the Discovery Owners Club. Not sure how accurate it is. A |

Update: Apparently some 2001 SDs have the Cd button on the radio and Pre-installed brackets, but no data cable for the Cd Changer. Bizarre??? Yes. I installed the Cd changer, snaked the cable through the dash and under the carpet and everything is working fine.
