Hi all,
I wanted to bring this issue up b/c there isn't much discussion about it and it could leave you stranded if you don't know what to do.
I was out running some light trails and noticed my CDL light was coming on when it was unlocked. I pulled over and noticed it was only turning on when I hit the brakes. So, I figured I would trouble shoot later and tried to pull away, but the parking safety solenoid would not let me out of park!

You can see how this could be a big problem if you don't know that you can lift up the gear indicator panel and push the solenoid button in, to get into gear.
So, thanks to my knowledge of that solenoid (from installing CDL linkage B4), I made it home and found that I had a brake light out and a blown brake-light fuse. I disconnected the offending tail light, r&r the fuse, and viola! ..no more problem. Next I'll replace the bad bulb (1156), and re-install the tail light.
And now for my question; Is this a Rover safety deal, to immobilise the truck for one bad break-light? Or just a coincidence??
