Check Engine Light

I have a 2000 Disco Series II w/ 140K miles. THe Check Engine Soon light is on, and I was wondering if anyone can help in resetting it. Rumor has it only the dealer can reset after 1996 models.

not true.. any OBDII reader will be able to scan for the codes and reset the light... i would not suggest resetting the light without fixing what's broke though... you should be able to take it any shop and they'll be able to read and reset the code for you.
Or you can pick one up on ebay fairly cheap if you want to work on the car yourself... will pay for itself in no time

Most likely cause is P1316, P0300, & P0305 - misfires (esp. cyl. #5) due to either a bad coil or valve stick.
