Default Constant Persistence and proof go a long way... :]

Well, after showing my dad everyones replies from the forum, I convinced my dad that keeping my baby is best.

He even told me, later on that she isn't that bad of a car, and to just take good care of her....

sooooo... I'm still apart of the the Land Rover Community!!!

Happy freakin' Rovering is all I gotta say!

Now get it off road.

Modify it.

Nothing endears you and your folks like a great off road adventure.

I've never lived with a vehicle as long as I have loved having my RRC and RR1.

Enjoy!

Aw man!!! Congrats! I know the feeling...I was where you were a while back. Take care of every minor detail (electrical, mechanical, etc.) that you possible can before making any modifications...you'll be glad you did if you go this route.

Or go 5" with RTE.

I tried to find a better photo of my friends DII. Look at the Blue at the far right.

5" rte, 35" Baja Claw.

01001010: My Disco is the exact color!

Jupiter Rover is my hero! haha :]
Does JR have a lift? and what size of tires are those?

Well, with sounds and vibrations.. I don't know if they are normal or not.. My dad says I'm a hypochondriac with my baby!... Any noise, shake or sputter has got to be something that needs to be addressed...

buuutt.. while I'm talking about this, I'll just go ahead and list my 3 concerns:

1. At around 50 mph, I get a high pitched whine and the faster I go it gets higher and higher pitched...

2. I've mentioned this one before, but not got alot of response on it. Whenever I turn on my A/C, i hear a belt noise.. it's not a squeak, but.. just it's a noise..when the A/C is on, at idle it revs around 600rpms.
now, when I don't have the A/C on, it revs around 500rpms, no sound.. but.. if I push the accelerator to around 600rpms, I get the same noise. and it only is constant between 600-700rpms.

3. I don't think my A/C is blowing at top speed.. is there anyway to test it? It's blowing wonderfully cold air, just not very fast...

For right now, I think that's everything.. I love her to death, but she tests my patiences sometimes! haha

Thank you again for your replies..

oh!.. and Thor, your friends DII looks awesome! :]

Happy Rovering!

haha...Glad I can add to your madness!..lol...here's another one of our buddies whom also has an Epson Green DII...his has a few more goodies on it though.

He got stuck halfway up teh doors in water that day..LOL..good times.

JR has the HD OME lift (2")...as for the tire size...you'd have to look through his threads to find out...I don't remember what he's running...they are Nitto Terra Grapplers though.

Also, I would suggest copy+pasting those three probs into a new post in the DII section so that more of the DII gurus on here can help ya out.

OK...I can't take it anymore.

You've got to drop the 'my baby' moniker. I suspect that is part of the reason you've had issues so far. It's that "My Baby" thing you keep saying. Look at your rover as a real bitch, but for some reason you just keep going back to her. One second you're so pissed off at her you can't stand it, and the next you're madly in love again. She complicates your life like no other, but yet you've just got to be with her. Your friends call you an idiot to your face, but behind your back they'd love to call her their own! You've got to find a way to make her respect you for the man that you are....I suggest a little off-road fling and all will be well between the two of you. Love and Rovers are kinda like that, if you haven't experienced it yet..you will

Seriously, when my SES light or ABS lights come on, I hit the trails pretty hard and 'Voila'..they're off (ok, not all the time, but sometimes).

Congratulations on being able to keep her but never, ever call her 'your baby' - it's bad karma IMO.

BTW - you don't need a bunch of expensive mods or useless stuff added to your b*by to take her off road. A stock rover will surprise you. Start hitting some trails and THEN figure out what mods would work best for you!

Have fun.

hahahaha... that was freakin' hilarious!

Love and a rover are almost exactly like that! haha I love it!

and I promise... no more "My baby"... anymore!

The only problem I have is that I first off, don't know my limits to a stock rover... secondly, she's such a bitch sometimes that I'm afraid to do anything because she just might fall apart!

hahah.. you're one funny man, and I'll keep your advice!

thanks!
