Hey everyone, I've got just a couuple concerns for you all...
1. At around 30 mph, I get a high pitched whine and the faster I go it gets higher and higher pitched... 2. I've mentioned this one before, but not got alot of response on it. Whenever I turn on my A/C, i hear a belt noise.. it's not a squeak, but.. just it's a noise..when the A/C is on, at idle it revs around 600rpms. now, when I don't have the A/C on, it revs around 500rpms, no sound.. but.. if I push the accelerator to around 600rpms, I get the same noise. and it only is constant between 600-700rpms. 3. I don't think my A/C is blowing at top speed.. is there anyway to test it? It's blowing wonderfully cold air, just not very fast... ...lasttt one!... How am I supposed to keep the sunroof drains unclogged??... well.. first off, how do I unclog them?!... I've heard of blowing air, but...how???... Thank you!!!!!! John-Robert

So with your low milage I imagine you have not yet replaced your serpentine belt, a combination of that and either the idler pulley and or belt tensioner is most likely.
Your idle sounds low, controlled by the ECU I believe the in gear, at operating temp, is closer to 750 RPM's. As for the A/C, other then the normal setting be it on auto matic or not, there is nothing else you can do to speed up the air flow. Are you sure your fan setting is on high? Mike |

Hey Mike!
well, first off when I bought the vehicle, at 33,000 miles the serpentine belt was replaced. Is there only one belt tensioner and idler pulley? In regards to the idling, At running temp it idles right around the first notch, so whatever rpm that is.. i just assumed it was 500 or so.. Whenever I go into gear, it idles lowers.... at a stoplight, or just a stop, if I put it into Neutral or Park, it revs a tad bit higher than it work in Drive... Thank you!

1. This could be just the transfer case making typical sounds. 2. The noise could be from the cabin temp. control unit, located under the passenger seat, but you would only hear it if the system is on. If it's off I don't think you'd hear anything. 3. Set the recirculate button to 'on', temp set to 'low', airflow directed to the dash board (the person's head on the display), and use the fan button to increase fan speed to maximum...that's the only way I know how. You need a compressor to blow air through the drain lines..even small compressor would work, but not a tire inflator, a compressor. You need to hit it with a blast of air. |

1. Thank you!.. I hope it is just the typical transfer case noise..
2. I don't think it is from the control unit because it sounds like a belt.. 3. I'll definitely try out your suggestion.. what I normally have done is have it set on "Auto" and then my temp is all the way to "low" on both sides. I will try out the compressor also!... but.. where am I blowing the air? When I look at the inside of the sunroof, I see two red little holes.. well, there is a red thing inside the holes.. I get you some pics in a little bit as to what I'm seeing... until then, THANK YOU! John-Robert
