Default Cruise control on manual TD5 2004

I have read the tech notes that you can fit cruise control to a manual TD5, exactly how does cruise control work on a manual?

I presume it can only maintain the speed in the highest gear?

In short, cruise control can be hooked up to any manual. They all hook up to the throttle body and hold a given presure to maintain speed. Unlike an automatic that can down shift based on throttle presure you will be limited to holding a constant speed in whatever gear you set the cruise control on, say 4th or 5 th. gear.
Works fine though, go for it.

Real quick for a cross ponder is the TD5 and so on models mean Turbo Deisel 5 passenger, etc. or what ? In the US it;s either SD-SE or SE 7 for the jump seated version. A little Noob lesson would be good, thanks !

No I don't think the 5 in TD5 has anything todo with the passengers, as the XS and HSE versions have jump seats and is also TD5, the TD5 motor is also shared with the Defender 90, 110 and 130.
