Default Cruise control - slowly stopped working

Hey guys: Here's a scenario for you.

Our 99 Disco II has 67,000 km on it. So far just a MAF replacement.

The cruise control was awesome when we bought it last year.

Over time the cruise would slowly start to lose speed.... ie. set it at 100 km/h and it would slowly lose speed and lose a little at a time until suddenly you were only cruising at 90 or so.

Well, the cruise has finally stopped working totally!

Any ideas where to look at to see what was "slipping" and has finally kacked out?????

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Ken

Sounds like it is time to start looking for a vaccum leak, start at the control unit behing the battery and jack area, check all the vaccum hoses in and out of there, check the long hose that runs up thru the fire wall to a switch at the brake pedal.
Leaks are usually the biggest problem, should be an easy find.

Yes,
I had a crack in one of mine, took awhile for me to get my fat hands into the small area behind the pump, but hey it works now.

Had same problem here, losing speed slowly. Went ahead and bought same width vacuum hose at my local Murrays auto parts and fixed the problem. It works excellent now.
