Hello all, great site. i have a 2000 discov 2 and the cruise doesn't work? the light on the dash comes on but when you hit the cruise button nothing happens? and the trans oil temp light comes on randomly? sometime at startup, sometimes after an hour or so of driving and sometimes never? any thoughts? i also bout a chip? to install in it. turns out to be a resistor you plug into the harness? supposed to give about 30 hp and torque. havent tried it yet. any thoughts?

the cruise is probably a cracked hose on the cruise control ecu next to the coolant bottle.
the trans temp might be two things, the transfer case sensor or the transmission cooler. they are in series. for shits and giggles replace the one in the transfer case since its easily accessible. if that dont work then you need to pull the radiator and remove take out the sensor on the bottom. dont take off the lines, leave them on and get it from the bottom. this would be a good time to check to see that your radiator isn't leaking. look for orange stains on the sides.
