I am looking to increase my MPG/Performance. Has any one replaced their mechanical engine fan with an electric fan, if so, what brand did you use and what were the results.

Check on Pirate 4x4. People have used Taurus fans. Sorry, I don't know what years.
I've also heard of Kenlowe fans in the UK, and people using fans from Summit racing. There's a lot o detractors from this modification but I've never heard of anyone having actual problems with cooling using electric fans.

Its an old myth. Truth is, a perfectly working clutch fan is no better or worse than an electric fan. You wont gain any milage. The Mechanical fan is far more reliable, and better for your alternator.
I'd only ever recommend an E-Fan when: You only ever do stop and go traffic in the hot summer Engine compartment space is a concern on custom applications You simply can't purchase a clutch fan for your particular car anymore. |
