question about dash trim removal around radio and climate control unit, what is the proper way for access

not sure what year and model you have. on my 99 d2, you pull the ashtray and the coin tray to reveal some screws. this removes the trim around the heater console.

to get the heater console out, there is a pressure clip on each side of the unit.
