Default Disco 2 Electrical Problem

Hi,
I'm new to this forum game so forgive me if i get things in the wrong place etc. I have a 2000 Disco 2 with a frustrating electrical problem.
Start the motor, run for 3 minutes and the radio plus front and rear wiper and washers cut out. Keep running for a further 5 minutes and the wipers/radio will come back on.....3 minutes later they die. If i just switch on the ignition without starting the engine both wipers/radio work fine for as long as you like....crank the engine and they die !!!. I removed the BCU and made sure it was dry...roasted it with a hair dryer..replaced it... no change. Any ideas where to go next?

Make sure that after you start the engine the key cylinder goes back a notch to the run position. It's smart enough to stop running the starter after the engine is running. I didn't last 5 minutes before I pulled over shut the car off, and everything went back to normal. I just don't trust that return spring anymore.
