Disco 2 - TC & HDC fault lamps lit - Land Rovers Only

Hi there!

I have one of those strange (but very typical to me) situations on my disco 2. TC and HDC fault lamps are lit up. The diagnostic computer states that I have a problem with the data line from engine ECu to ABS ECU. I cancelled the faults and this data is now present. However, as soon as I start the engine, this fault re-occurs. I have plugged in an oscilloscope and could see a square wave on both ends of the wire that transmits this data (even though I do not actually know how this wave should look). The ABS function works perfectly.

Did anyone ever come across this problem? Any ideas what else I can check? THanks & good day to all. R :-)

If you were to do a search on any of the Rover forums, this one included, you would find hundreds of old post on this exact subject. This is considered a D2 most common problem.
Once you read thru some of these, shout with any specific questions.
