I could really use some help at this point. I was cleaning my Disco last weekend, I went to dust of the instrument cowl (cover) and it lifed right up! The screws were to tight last time it was put back on and the plastic brackets broke. This must have happened with the previous owner. My questions is Does anyone have a good condition "tan" cowl cover for sale? I don't need the switches. The stealership wants $285!!! I found one on Ebay but it sold before I could get in my bid. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

No, I didn't buy a new one. For everyone else out there with the same problem check this out.
Visited my local Lowes Hardware. I bought a box (couldn't by just 2) of black 6x1-5/8 dry wall screws. These screws had a slightly larger heard and were longer. The larger head allowed the screw to set outside the cowl cover. And Wa-la! I even like the look better. Hope this finds anyone with my same problem. Note to all the stealerships: I JUST SAVED $285 by switching my car part needs to LOWES! |
