Question Fuel level sensor circuit low, Fault Codes P0462 & P1453,

I have two fault codes that come up after noticing that my SES light came on. They read as P0462 and P1453. The first is a fuel level sensor circuit low code and the second is an emissions control code. This is all the data that I can find on these codes and am looking to see if anyone knows what needs to be fixed in this case. These codes were not in the Land Rover man. at the land rover shop and the shop owner could not tell me what exactly is wrong without further Diagnostics/ money. I would like to fix this problem myself if at all possible.

Thanks for looking and your reply!

Default Hmmm

I heard with LR it's bad to run out of gas. Does your gas low light work? If that gas light comes on it's time to find a bank and "Pull over Rover" it's time for a withdraw!!!

Default Out of gas a bad thing...

I think your right, I try to never let any of my cars get too low on fuel for fear they will suck up the soot, dirt and other crap left at the bottom of the tank. But due to the gas prices I have been hunting around for better deals on fuel causing my tank to get low and have the light come on. I do however only use the affordable 91 octane, HAHA! But, for what it is worth, I think you might be onto something with running the tank low on these guys. Thanks for you input!

Cleared the codes again and also bought some seafoam while I was at the shop to pour in the gas tank. It has been 200 miles and the ses has not come back on yet. The seafoam has the engine running smoother and better gas mileage too!

Well, it's back! Error Code P1453 is showing up again! Seems like I can go about 1000 or so miles now before it comes on again. I did notice that I was having trouble filling my tank completely the other day. Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem but I thought it was a bit strange. I cleared the code again today, so we'll see!

The code indicates your fuel tank pressure relief valve is malfunctioning. Possibly that is why you have trouble filling. I would have it sorted soon.

P0462 normally indicates a fuel level anomally. There are many things that could cause that code to appear and a diagnostic is needed (assuming addressing the P1453 issue doesn't solve this one).
