Default Disco II stalling and not starting when HOT

HI,

I dono what is up with my luck , but i get cars that have the most uncomen problems. Dealer never heard of this problem ( maybe I gave to much info , I dono ) .

What the truck did is this .

6am drove 10 miles and got to work no problem

2pm Driving a 9 mile distance and reaching the destination I turned it off , 1 min later ( a real 1 min. ) I tried to start it , but all it did was to crank over and over and over , and no start .

I left it there and got back at 10pm and it started and drove home fine ( 8 miles ) .

6am drove to work ( 10 miles ) i got there fine .

3pm drove to the same lockation as i did day before and it staled when I was stoping at a stop sing ( 8.8 miles ) and i had to push it off the road and leave it there cause I had to run to the hospital ( my baby girl was being born . Isn't that always the case that your car brakes when you have a baby on the way ) .

at 1am my bro move it that 0.2 miles while I was at the hospital .

at 11am I got back to my truck and i drove it home ( 8 miles ) and i sat in the drive way for about 5 min. I turned it off and waited 10 sec. and it started back up .
while pluging in the ODBII scaner the truck reved up up to 1500 rpms and seatled down . I opened the hood to see if i will see anything fonky . Well i didn't see anything moving , but I heard the Idle motor open because of the gulp that the intake makes when you open the throtle .

After those two rev ups , I turned off the truck and it did not start after 10sec waiting after turning it off .

I went out later on ( like 55 min. ) and it started back up , but the temp was not at running temp anymore . it was down .

So I stumped the Tech and the LR dealer .

BTW My baby girl is 8 weeks early she was 4lbs 10oz and 17" . Her name is Kylie Madison ( debate on whos last name Mine or the mothers , but I think she is pissed enath at me that Mother will give Kylie Her last name ) .

She has one problem and she will need corective sergery at 3 mounth old , but it's in the area that no one will see on daily bassis .

How many miles on your truck?
Things to look at would be,
The crank sensor
Dirty throttle body
Dirty idle control
Failing coil pack
Fuel Pump and or relay
Or any combination of thses.
Have you been able to verify if you are loosing spark or fuel?

It's 110k miles

Last night i had some time to look at the truck , and the $130 book .

The funny thing is that the ecu will not have any codes in it , when the camshaft and the crankshaft should cause a fault .

I'm going to see what sencor will not work , by runing the car like I did last night and at the point when it dose not wants to start I'll look at the sencors output .

OH BTW I was looking at the dash when the car was doing the stumble . What I noticed that when the RPM drop like ~ 630 rpm ( the neddle is between the 500 and 750 rpm ) . The Check engine would flash for the time when the rpm neddle falls to 300 rpm and the engine will kick up in the rpms .
Also the engine would start even after this RPM drop . But I had to wait little longer , and I would turn it off anf back on , and every min. it would take longer and longer to krank , but it did start .

I even trying to see if I reset the ECU ( removing the power ) , that did not make any difference .

I will be calling the LR to see how much the CKP and CMP are . Also I read in the book anf I would need the TESTBOOK/ T4 to reset the seting after replacing the crank sensor .

Now My plan of the attac is to see if the crank sencor will generate the AC voltage when the truck has no problem starting and when it's not starting . I want to do the same for the camshaft too . Cause I don't feal like replacing whants not broken .

On the side note . It was said also that if the conector wires on the Crankshaft position are reversed , there will be a 3deg. advence to the timing . HMMM can we run 87 this way ? . I dono I wouldn't try it espetialy I don't have any LR's in any lockal junk yards .
