Default discovery2 with P1590 and P0441

I have a 2001 discovery2 with SAI and it turns on engine check.

The code reader told me P1590 and P0441. The first one is manufacturer

control and the second the evaporative emission system incorrect purge flow

or evap purge valve incorrect fault.

The smog check due date is coming up. Would you please tell me

how I can fix this error? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

The 1590 is because your 3 Amigos are are as for the evap fault, check it for leaks.

follow-up...
I replaced the gas cap 3 days ago and found no change. Then I had the purge valve
replaced with the hyundai part, as is recommended in many posts in this web site.
The replacement was pretty easy and took me only 20 minutes. Right after the replacement I fired up the engine and the check engine was still there. Because
I remembered that I saw someone told that he got the code disappear at the third
start-up, I did not give up hope and finally the code is gone at the fourth starting
the next day.

Maybe I replaced the gas cap in vain, but it cost me only 8 bucks and it was worth the
first try.

Thank you for all the posters here for helping me fix my vehicle easily.

Thank you, Mike. I have had these three amigos since I bought this car 2 years ago.
The low range isn't working and I wish to go off-road.

Yes. I would like to fix the 3 amigo problem. I need to search the solutions.

Purchase an abs amigo to read your codes. They're about 200$ but I see them used all the time on here. Pay attention to the classifieds.

Your other option is to have your codes read at a shop that has the appropriate scanner. A simple obd II scanner will NOT work, you must have one to read the abs codes.

once your codes are read, post them here, then the wonderful folks on this forum can help you.

Go ahead and read the two stickys above. No more svs fault and shuttle valve seals. There's a lot of useful info there.

The 441 code won't go away on its own, clear it with a scanner.
Send me your number if you want to walk thru this stuff.

I have P1590 and 3 amigos. There is no engine check on. My code reader also tells

that 3 monitors are N/A and that 5 monitors are ok. What does this mean?

The brake warning light is on because the parking brake switch is broken.

Is this vehicle (2001 discovery2) able to pass the smog test in California?

The due date is coming up. Thank you in advance for any comments.

I bet you have a t/case solenoid causing your low range to not engage.

Thank you, Mike. I sent you an e-mail to give you my phone number.

You are right. The low range cannot be engaged. I wish to go to desert, but I cannot.

Help!

I read the codes again on discover2 and it showed codes 2, monitors n/a 3,

monitors ok 5, monitors inc 3.

The codes are 1) engine: P1590
2) transmission: P1884

I was told here that P1590 is due to three amigos and not related to smog check,

but what is P1884 with transmission? Is this ok for passing smog test?

What are monitors inc 3? This is probably monitors incomplete in three cases, right?

Is this ok for passing smog?

Thank you in advance for any comments.
