follow-up...
I replaced the gas cap 3 days ago and found no change. Then I had the purge valve
replaced with the hyundai part, as is recommended in many posts in this web site.
The replacement was pretty easy and took me only 20 minutes. Right after the replacement I fired up the engine and the check engine was still there. Because
I remembered that I saw someone told that he got the code disappear at the third
start-up, I did not give up hope and finally the code is gone at the fourth starting
the next day.
Maybe I replaced the gas cap in vain, but it cost me only 8 bucks and it was worth the
first try.
Thank you for all the posters here for helping me fix my vehicle easily.
Purchase an abs amigo to read your codes. They're about 200$ but I see them used all the time on here. Pay attention to the classifieds.
Your other option is to have your codes read at a shop that has the appropriate scanner. A simple obd II scanner will NOT work, you must have one to read the abs codes.
once your codes are read, post them here, then the wonderful folks on this forum can help you.
Go ahead and read the two stickys above. No more svs fault and shuttle valve seals. There's a lot of useful info there.

The 441 code won't go away on its own, clear it with a scanner.
Send me your number if you want to walk thru this stuff.

I have P1590 and 3 amigos. There is no engine check on. My code reader also tells
that 3 monitors are N/A and that 5 monitors are ok. What does this mean?
The brake warning light is on because the parking brake switch is broken.
Is this vehicle (2001 discovery2) able to pass the smog test in California?
The due date is coming up. Thank you in advance for any comments.
the three amigos are no problem to pass the test and depending on which monitors are ready and which are not is the problem with the california smog it is a pain
I bet you have a t/case solenoid causing your low range to not engage.
