You made a good choice, I have seen a number of trucks set up with dual T.T's and they have been very pleased. They are good HD diffs and will do all you want them to, The only other options as an up grade would be ARB's, and I don't think they are worth the extra money.
Yes with the Detroit you get to spend the extra $600 for rear HD axles, so I went crazy and dropped in a set of 4:11's while we were in there. It will take you only one good trail to see how they work, let me know what you think after your first test by fire so to speak. Mike |

Hey Mel, I'm running dual TT's too. So far I'm very pleased. I won't be able to go out for a couple of weeks because I'm traveling and have some rubbing issues with my new tires.
I'm in the middle of doing a new rear bumper. Once that's taken care of I'll be out again.

What did you do about bump stops? I guess I need the longer ones? Dealer item? Also, if I do the Detroit do I have to do the 4.11's or can I just upgrade the axles? I feel so stupid about all of this....I have to be able to hold things in my hand visually to understand. I know it's a RoverChic thing! My diffs EXPLODED in the front and rear so I had no choice but to do the upgrades! LOL! ![]()

If you go to 4.11's you will most likely need to upgrade the axles. If you stay with the standard 3.54's, your standard axles should be OK if you are driving an Auto. Had a rear locker with standard axles for 3 years with no issues. Put the 4.11's in and broke them first trip. The 4.11's put extra stress on the axles due to the increased leverage.

OUCH No you don't need to go to 4:11's for the lockers, I did because of the 265's, they cost me too much power and 2MPG. And yes, because Rovers diffs are so small, their ring and pinion are also and the smaller, the smaller gear with the lower gear ratio make for thinner teeth and a weaker gear set. I have not personaly talked to anyone that broke a 4:11 gear set but the Gear shop I use has seen them. So a Detroit just like a ARB will require HD axles that is all, Bill will confirm that for you. Take care lady, Mike |

I'm rubbing in the rear on my bumper which is home made. I've been working on ver. 2 for awhile but have been a bit short on time. For bump stops to really work they have to be extremely long.
What size tire are you running now and where exactly is it rubbing? I'm running a 285-75/16 with a 3" RTE lift. The rubbing I had is on the sliders in the front and the bumper in the rear. The sliders have been fixed.

Mike and Walt~ Thanks for all this advice! Keep it coming! I plan to keep the TT for awhile at least, once I get the feel for it. I do want the Detroit now..I know absolutely insatiable! I had to make a swift decision, without a lot of forethought or deliberation so therefore I am happy thus far. I wish it would have been under normal circumstances, then I would have been able to make a sound researched choice. Oh well, oh blah dee oh blad dah life goes on!! Tire rub: I have the 265/75 MTR from Goodyear with the AB 16*7 Steel Rims (4.25 backspacing). The front is OK, as Dave Lucas made my sliders special for the truck (one inch shorter) nonetheless I am having major issues with the rear tires. They must be hitting on the inside fender wells, as the tires are torn to hell now. I was told this was ok to drive on however I am not sure that I trust that advice. I do feel the sidewall (and overall safety of the tire) is sacrificing it's efficacy with major junks missing. I will post up some pics later on today! Thanks!

Sounds like the back spacing on the wheels are your problem. I haven't heard of anyone with 265's rubbing. I'm running 285/75's on stock rims and I don't come near to rubbing on my fenders.
