Has anyone noticed a Draft in their Disco?
My wife was riding in the back with the baby and was complaining about being cold. I could not sense a draft. I sat back there and it was noticeably cooler in the back than the front with the heat going. I found the draft was coming from around the door handle (silver part used to open the door). I know that the heat only vents the heat out of is the floor vents to the rear of the center console, but it does not seem adequate without cooking the front passengers. She normally feels much warmer that me so I thought it was ood. I was thinking of Dynomatting all the doors to see if that would solve the problem, because I also noticed a slight draft from the front doors around the same area. The door seals in the front leak but only when in a car wash. I get a slight draft through there as well only really noticeable if I use the door as an arm rest. I was thinking of doing the rear door just because the sub rattles so much stuff back there but doing all the doors seem like a good idea right now. That and putting blankets back there. It would probably be better if I could get some heat from the overhead vents. ![]()

Dynamiting all your doors won't solve the problem, it will make it worse as you will have even more draft.
Ahhhh! That feels better! Seriously though, behind the door trim there's a plastic dust/draft/water cover that's glued to the door frame. If someone has done any repair work on that door such as window mechanism, then it's possible that they haven't glued the plastic sheet back properly. If on the other hand, this is not the case, then perhaps the door alignment needs adjusting.

Just took mine in for the 52,500 service and had them check on the same problem. We noticed on the interstate that our body parts close to the door were very noticeably cool.
The LR dealer had the guys in the back adjust all the doors and check all the strikers to make sure everything was in tune. Whatever they did worked because now we have almost no door draft. He did say that some of our "weather stripping" was compressed about half way and that proably at 60,000 mile service or 67,500 we would want to replace all the door weather stripping. I think total cost for all doors was going to be less and 200 dollars. |

I have the same problem....wind nosie coming from my rear right door. I readjusted the striker plate to no avail. The noise has lessened but it is still a problem. The weather stripping is quite firm. I intend to revisit the issue as I think it is still an alignment problem with the striker plate. It being off just a fraction , seem to make a major difference.

I will call the dealer up to address this issue as well as a bushing in the drivers door that needs to be taken care of. It sucks that it's a 150mile drive, but at least they pick up and deliver, but its killing the mileage which I am only concerned about because of the Warranty. Time to extend it anyway.![]()
