Default E-Fan Conversion?

Just bought my wife a 99 Disco II. Was wondering if anyone has done an e-fan conversion on theirs? I have done them on other vehicles with good results (quieter/slight improvement in MPG/better water fording capability). Would I see the same benefits with the Disco or should I leave well enough alone?

Thanks - Bill (Disco Newbie)

I put the twin 12" Flex-A-Lite on my NAS110, with the variable speed controller. Mainstains Thermostat temp regardless, quieter, and not just a slight gain in MPG, more like 20%

Did your 110 have the viscous fan clutch? I would love to see a 20% increase in MPG.

Thanks - Bill

Are you serious?
20% wow.
I was thinking this would be a good mod for my D2 as well.
Any MPG is good MPG the way I drive.
I plan on making it "removeable" so I can go back to the fan if I need to.

If that question can have a 'yes & no' answer, than yes it did, but being the cheap AB replacement, it lost it's silicone fluid in about 18 months, and was no longer going into full lockup. I tightened the bimetalic strip a half turn, which helped, but, if anything it was in lockup more frequently than it needed to be.
Another reason I was able to see this kind of a savings is that I am running a slightly hotter engine than a stock 110. They came through with anemic 3.9s and I scratch built a 4.2. I have no doubt that the new engine taxed the limits of the stock radiator, so the fan was, out of necessity, in lockup more than it might have been running a stock, lower HP (BTU) engine.
I didn't buy the fan set new. Paul Grant, in his one man crusade to rid the world of dead and dying rangies and discos, took it off one of his victims. The 110 Radiator is about 2 1/2" narrower than the range rover (and disco) radiator, so the PO had cut out the corners to accomdate the hose connections. I fashioned a lower, lift out mount, and two aluminum tabs on the top. It can be removed in about 1 minute, and the original shroud and fan can be back on it in a few more.
If I can take a sufficiently low resolution picture of it to meet the pathetic max size limits, I'll post it.
