Default ECU help

I have a 2000 DII with 93000 miles, its been throwing a o2 sensor code, well the o2 sensor is fine and the harness is fine. My Mechanic says its a bad ECU its stuck on thinking its .44v My mechanic has done everything he knows how to, to try and fix the problem. I thought i read somewhere about an ECU recall of some sort but cannot find any information. HELP me

Scott

He ran a T4 test book through the ECU for what its worth

picked up the car tonight. Its actually reading 44.7v which is the default way of saying its a bad o2 sensor so that the driving conditions are normal. Looks like im in the market for a new ECU

How do you know the o2 sensor is good? How was it tested?

He tested the sensor, both harness, and the hareness that goes ALL the way back to the ECU. He has spent ALL day with this thing. He told me about a million things that he has done and he said it all points back to the ECU. he unplugged the o2 sensor and it still says its at 44.7v

He used the T4 test book to conduct most of the test.

Its just a simple "no connectivity code"

Error code P0160 last time i checked it (the light has not gone off so it should not have changed)

Rovin, if you have any advice with this please let me konw,

Thanks

For what its worth, i have unplugged all of the o2 sensors and double checked the connection (to make sure its in ALL the way) and they all clicked in. however, the one that is bad (bank 2 sensor 2) is missing the white center cap on the rovers harness. I have been told its nothing major.

run a new wire from the ecu to the oxygen sensor. make sure to use gold plated ends for the oxygen sensor. the dealer has them.

if that doesnt work then put an ecu in it.

those vehicles went to centers with the highest sales. Not the ones that were actually around.

I know a guy from one dealer that was around for twenty years and missed it because of sales. really pissed them off too. They werent grandfathered in due to actually being there for twenty years.

I was not aware of such, I really do not mingle with the sales dept., and the only tyme I hang at the front showroom is to pick up keys, I avoid being there too long (showroom) because that is the main hang out of the general manager, you know what I mean.

For what its worth, problem is...for the most part... solved. Oil had leaked onto the top of the pass front o2 and threw it out of wack, which in turn threw the rear otta wack. It was stuck that way for so long that the ECU was stuck thinking that. Well 2 o2 sensor, an ECU flash, and a hard reset later ($550.00 good as new)
