Hello everyone!!
I've been a Land Rover fan for all of my life, as a matter of fact my dad and I proudly own a few Series II & III, and Defender models. Just moved to the States last week, and on my second day here I had to get a Rover... bought an '02 83K mile Land Rover Discovery II. Got so excited about it, I did all of the CARFAX research after paying for it! (2 minor incidents, and 1 sole owner!). I've had, in the last week the "Three Amigos" lit up, and the Service Light Soon amber light. The "Three Amigos" came off, and will follow someone's suggestion of engaging the Electronic Descent Control in order to use the feature and exercise involving valves. As for the Service Light, just ordered an OBDII reader from amazon, and should be receiving it in a couple of days. I will post the codes, maybe someone will be able to help me out. The last, and intended posting of this message, is that the driver's side seat works absolutely well except for the seat not moving up and down. Does anybody know hot to troubleshoot electric seats? By the way, just did my first tank gas mileage check and it did 12.76 miles/gal. on Atlanta GA, which is a pretty crowded and traffic dense city. Thank you, LT |

need the codes for the three amigos. if it comes on and off chances are its the shuttle valve failure.
if it is it needs a module attached to the modulator for a wonderful 750. oh and need the codes and freeze frame data for the CEL.

I received the OBDII Scanner and the code was: P0306 (which is cylinder misfire if I'm correct). The "Three Amigos" light hasn't come back on, and I'm just waiting for the weekend to arrive to find a hill steep enough to engage descent control.
Any idea on how to troubleshoot the electric seats? Thank you for your reply! LT |

I had the tilt adjustment motor go out on my passenger seat. The first thing you need to do is determine whether it is the switch or the actual motor. I simply swapped the switch from the drivers to passengers seat to determine which failed. If it is the motor, the only place I have found that I could get a replacement is D.A.P. (http://www.dap-inc.com/index.shtml), you will not find it on their website but just give them a call. I am not 100% on this so you will want toi make sure, but the motor that controls the up down is what they call the rear motor.
Hope this helps. |

Most definitely helpful!
I now have some other minor defects in the vehicle for instance the driver's electric window will not go up or down, and I'm also seeing some dampening going on in one of the valve covers. Also tranny fluid leaking from underneath. Concerted and appointment at my nearest Land Rover dealer to get an estimate to get all of these issues fixed right away. I'll update on the outcome! Thank you. LT |
