Unhappy EMERGENCY!!! Plenum Chamber

2000 Disco II
115K of pure fury

Alright here's the skinny. Need to replace spark plug wires, plugs and valve cover gaskets...I have replacement parts for all (magnecors and big thanks to Atlantic British). How the heck do I take off the plenum chamber???

I have the top four bolts off and i'm trying to take off other stuff but I can tell that i'm definitely gonna take stuff off that i don't need to.

My garage is currently occupied by my disco and i'm getting my A kicked right now

PLEASE HELP!!!

Dou you need to replace the v/c gaskets, vally pan or intake manifold? If not don't, you can replace the wires without pulling the intake off.

Have you tried to tightem up the 2 out bolts on each v/c gasket, they usually get loose and leak.
Just trying to keep you from doing a bunch of work you are not probably ready to handle.
Did you buy a new $60 plus gasket thst goes between the upper and lower manifold, if not get one before you start.

I haven't ripped into mine yet but looking at the plenum gasket it looks like it has more than 4 bolts?

I'm hoping I can flip the plenum to the right side wheel well after I get it unbolted?

I'm going to do the same thing to my 01 D2 here shortly.
Got my Magnecors from Apex around $92 shipped I believe.
Plenum gasket from D.A.P. for $12.66.
Valve Covers gaskets from D.A.P. $6.50 each.
Just waiting to pick up a new belt and I'm going to rip into her.

yep. Tightened one a while ago but it was still going then the other started so I figured i'd wait til i got the spark plug wires in to change everything that is related to me taking off that plenum chamber.

Already have gaskets for the v/c's and intake manifold(err6621). I am just wondering if there is some jedi tips on getting this plenum chamber off rather than just taking off the 69 nuts and bolts that i see and messing things up. how long is this supposed to take by chance...i have a poker night event @ 730 that i was planning to go to but we'll see...

negative. Probably should have cleared that up originally. Sorry its my first post/problem

I can tell that i have to roll to autozone to get the screw type clamps for the hoses and what not. But seriously, i thought this would be an easier job than when i used to work on F-15s

DiscoBenny - I just finished up my head gasket this week so I had all that junk apart on my 00 SE7. I'll shoot you a PM. I'm no LR genius but I will be glad to share with you what I gathered in my job.

Sweet deal thanks Disco Mike.

Ultrrunr, you're not kidding about the wires...knuckles are officially BUSTED .

Whats up with this aviation sealant you're talking about? You use it WITH the new gaskets as a combo deal? Or just stand alone on its own?

Happy Sunday All
