I have myself an '03 Discovery 2 and I got stuck a couple weeks back and I think its cause my diff lock wasn't engaged. Do I even have CDL? How can i tell? What do i look for? (pictures) and how do I engage it?

YUP!!
But the good news is that the 03 has an updated ETC and is more capable then the earlier D2's, once you learn how to drive with it. You do have the option of installing a Used t/case with CDL.

01's that were built before jan. 01 will have them for sure.
Look on your drivers door for your trucks production date.

Do all 99's have it? If so, how do I engage it without building that lever through my console?

Yes, your 99 has it. It can be engage by crawling under the truck with a wrench or installing the shift linkage from a D1 or an 04.

Date reads 01/01. Hope that means it has the cdl. Haven't got under there and looked yet.

Neo,
You are on the line and now you will need to crawl under and see if you cna feel the shift nipple to know for sure.
Look at the attached picture, notice the round plate that is attached to the top of the t/case with 3 bolts. If yours has that center nipple in the middle of that round plate you are in luck.

Thanks for the pic Mike. I will definitely check it out. It wasn't bought for a offroad vehicle, but you know how that goes.
