need some help on some engine fault codes.
P0734 Gear 4 ratio incorrect???? P0171 system to lean bank 1 P0174 system to lean bank 2 I know what the last two are I just don't know which O2 sensor it is. The first one I have no idea about. Could it be some kind of sensor also? Hope it is nothing major, I called my local dealer and they said if the transmission had to be replaced it would be around $5500. That is crazy. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the quick reply Disco Mike. Would that MAF sensor cause all three codes or just the last two? Another question, this might sound like I am dumb but exactly where is the MAF sensor? Is it on the air intake tube or whatever that thing is called? The P0734 code worries me more than the other two. Once again thanks. One more question where would be the best place to get the sensor?

All three codes usually occur at the same time when the MAF shuts down. I wouldn't worry about the tranny code, there is no problem with the tranny that code just shows with the other 2 codes.
There is actually a 3rd to 4th gear shifting problem that will occur, along with a bad exhaust smell, power drop and poor mileages, but that is actually caused by the MAF and will be gone when you replace the MAF. Yes, you are right the MAF is on the air tube, just after the air filter box and is a 5 minute replacement. Send me a private message if you want a good supplier for a new MAF. Take care, Mike |
