Ok , I have not been on here for ages . The reason is that I have time only at work and I got yealed at for not doing any work and cruzing the forum pages .
Well I have this problem . My truck in leacking oil like it dose not care , The whole engine is covered with oil and most of it looks like it's coming out from the front main , and MAYBE from the rear main . I'm not aftaid of ripping the motor apart if I have too , But I don't feal like doing all the extra work . My qwestion is . what are the comen oil leaks on this series II discovery V8 ? ANy info I would apreatiat Thanks guys

Don't worry about what the common oil leaks are in your Rover, there are too many to mention. I would suggest you degrease the whole underside and then power wash it, add some engine oil dye and black light it till you find the leak.
How many miles are on the truck? How much oil, exactly, every week? Mike |

it's over 100K ( something like 110k I think ) .
And it leaves a one dollar bill size oil stains , but it's like one qt. a mounth or 3 weeks . I did fix the valve covers , but one of them is still leaking ( I thinkg the gasket foldet on me when I was fealing around the cover by the firewall ) . The front of the mottor is really wet , from the heads down ( i think it might be the front main ) . And if there is a leak there then it looks like the whole bottom is leacking cause the whole bottom is wet . But I will look for that die . I need to find my black light thoe . Thanks for the reasuring on the amount of leacks ![]()

BUT he broke all the connector on the engine wire harnes , when I was able to take them off with out braking them two days before . He just did not gave a fuck , he sat down in the car with out putting anything on the seat , but he was in his durty mechanic close . Same thing with VW ( that was my dad's foult , he intalled the ground wire on an item that was not grounded ) , they sabotaged the car , by puting an oil bottle cap in the radiator hose after the water pump . That asshole dose not even understand how the VW coling system works . He didn't need to plug it to get it up to runnig temp . it's got radiatior bypass so the fuild flows from the pump back to the head , untill it gets hot and the spetial termostat deverts the fluid to the radiator . I hate mechanics . Thats why i do EVRYTHING my self unless i can't aford the tools , and I find a way to borow them . The reason I have bad lock is cause they don't like me to tell them what wrong with the car before they look at it . and they don't care about it cause it's not their car ether . THat reminds me when I told my neightber that he had a bad water pump from lisening to his car ( that I never worked on this type of car ) . his mechanic said that it was the timing belt idler puly . well once he go in there . he found a bad water pump . Now my neighber wants me to work on his cars . Also we fixed the shimy in his 97 slc600 ( i think it;s SLC ) . Dealer could not find the lose front wheel berings and readjust the stering box . that shit was simple and they had the car three times . So Oldsmobile , Chrysler , VW , Mercedes dealers suck in my area . So I dono if I want to try again for the forth time . THe olds was simple timing distributor bad , and they hacked my colling fan harnes cause the car would pop the fuse or over heat in winter in the driveway . The reason for the problem in this car I didn't find untill one day ( that was the 20th time we were looking to adjust the timing ) we finaly saw it jump between 3 deg to 20 deg of timing in idle when it was in the mode of base timning setting ( stops the electronics from addjusting the timing ) . So I would love to give it to someone , but I don't trust no one , not even my friends that work on cars on daily basis. I was just looking for info so i don't have to reinvent the wheel . But thank you for the advice . I've been everywhere . I was inside the olds FWD Auto tranny . i was in the olds 3.0 motor . I was in the 82 honda 5spd tranny . i was in the 4 spd VW tranny and the 1.8l motor form my Fox . I was in the two different LH body auto tranys and the 3.3l v6 from the concord . I was in the Jeep 86 2.8l v6 ( it;s the chevy motor ) . I was in the 264 Volvo auto tranny and the motor that is all aluminum 2.7l v6 from 1979 . I was in the 2.0l turbo Mitsu motor and the AWD 5spd tranny and the rear end that are in my talon . I also tuke the whole sub frames apart and creaned the rust off and painted them . the interior of that talon . the turbo system was redone to pump out 280 wheel HP's ( that;s ruffly 380 HP at the crank when the car comes 190hp ) . I did body work on my VW after rear ending a van . The talon also when I t boned the bone head that stoped in the middle on the intersection. So I've done a lot of things . I also did some stuff to the LR that were bad . the ABS sencor with out taking the axle out . Fix minor stuff on the LR . I just got tired just thinking about all the shit in detail i did . The worst was the VW Fox tranny . it was small and Havy likr it was out of led . the LH was a bitch too . But when I was helping my dad with the lexus LS 300 tranny . the dealer did not wanted to do the job cause they said it's to much work for an old car like this . So I;ve did a lot , and LR is not scaring me at all , but I don't want to take stuff apart that I don't need . but looking at the extent of the leack/s I think i'll re do the whole thing So Like I said Thank you for Help . BTW I did get the Die today , but I need to wait for a little better wether and untill i fix my bros power stering leack ( cause the car will cath on fire , we saw 3 of those cars burned in that area ) .
