Disco II, shuts down while driving, will restart after 10 or so minutes. Got an error code 1590, "manufacturer vehicle speed idle control." Would this cause my Disco to go dead while driving??? Or could it be the crank position control sensor, I was told those hardly ever go bad. I feel it's a sensor somewhere???

P1590 is the rough road signal that is the ecu acknowledging a fault with the abs system. Will not shut down the truck. You have other issues.

I agree with Roverhound, this is an ABS rough road fault, I had it a coup[le of weeks ago along with the trio.
One possible cause for what you are experiencing may be a crank sensor, that won't always throw a code. Mike |

Crank sensor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are getting no fuel and no spark, thisa is most likely going to be the problem. Mike Last edited by Disco Mike : 04-09-2008 at 06:20 AM. Reason: addition |
