Unhappy Everyone, I don't know what to do anymore....

Ok, so... here's the deal

My truck has been in the shop for a week in a half now, because of the leaning problem.

Today, I find out that there is frame damage, and that the front axle has shifted. Remember, I bought this car thinking it was perfect, AFTER it was check by an independent inspector who said and wrote down that there was no damage to the frame.

Because of the frame damage, there is a noticeable difference between the gaps of almost every exterior panel, and the rear bumper is shifted so there is an inch gap between the back panel to the bumper on the LEFT side, and no gap on the RIGHT side.

The right side is the side it is leaning to.

I don't know what to do. I mean, the inspector said there was no damage to the frame, but the lean was noticeable by the time I got home from the dealership (400 miles away).

............ I love my truck, but she is badly damaged.... Because the axle has shifted and all this frame damage, is it a danger to drive around?

I'm so sad.. I don't know what to do.....

Thanks

John-Robert

Remember this post?
Its Official!
That was your first clue that there were some potential problems with this D2. You should have contacted the selling dealer and the 'inspector' the day you drove off the lot and encountered issues on the drive home and demanded they correct the problems.
D2's are known to have problems here and there, but it sounds like you've had your fair share and then some.....
Good luck - I hope the issue isn't frame damage.

PS - Did the inspector or selling dealer provide a you a report as to the condition of the vehicle when you purchased it? You might have some legal means to recouperate some of the money that you've spent if they were negligent or mis-represented the condition of the D2.

Thanks!

D2JP: I had noticed it was leaning, after a couple of days.. but I didn't think much of it... then I read some posts about sagging, so I thought it was that..

I brought it into the dealership, and they replaced the rear right airbag.... it was still leaning, so they did an ACE service... still leaning.. thats when the Service Manager said they couldn't do anything about it.

Then, I was fed up, so I took it back again for them to check the suspension... they figured out that the suspension was fine... so they looked at the body....
In regards to the light, whenever I would go to the dealership, they couldn't find out the problem....

The inspector did a 140 point inspection and even wrote down "there is no evidence of frame damage".... go figure...

The seller's disclaimer is that I bought it "as-is" and that they are not responsible for it.....

I don't know... I'm gunna get a second opinion hopefully this weekend, but.. yeah...

Should I get legal council?

Johhny

if you bought as is, it was up to you to check on its conditions, you bought it faults and all.

Your independent assessor inspected the vehical and gave you a report whihc you relied upon to your detriment, so if you can claima gainst anyone its this guy, depending of course on any disclaimers her may have had in his contract with you, thats the fine print somewhere on the page.

I would get advice from a lawyer to sue the assessor its your only hope

Otehr than that sell your vehicle cut your losses now

In most cases, shoddy body and paint work is evident by mismatched paint, overspray, body panels not in alignment, orange peel, leaking or noisy glass, etc. So...if someone did a crappy fix on a major wreck it would show up.

Good body and paint shops that deal in high-end autos usually will do such a good job that it's really hard to tell it's ever been hit....which usually means insurance is paying and in a lease vehicle it would or should be reported.

Maybe find out the body shop that does the work for your local Porsche, M-B, etc. dealers and have them look at your D2 for evidence of serious damage.

I'm not a lawyer, but seeing as you've had nothing but trouble since your purchase, I'd contact the selling dealer and tell him what's you've found out and see what he'll do. Can't hurt to ask.

I certainly hope that you are moving on this as "time is of the essence" here.

Good Luck.

D2JP: On the recent body shop report that I got, you mentioned almost everything that was written.

- Orange Peel (what is that???)
- Leaking
- Overspray
- Body panels not aligned

Since it was a lease vehicle, I know it should have been reported, but it wasn't.

Hopefully very soon, I will be taking it to "Metro Cars".. they specialize in LR's...

...and it is very true, I have had nothing but troubles, unfortunately, and to add to it, my brake switch just went out....

I loooveee my car, I just want her to be fixed!

FlyWheel: I know exactly what you are talking about, and I am on top of that... Thanks!

... and thank you all for the replies!! It really has been of great help!
