I knew I should have told the guy to cut it off. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be too loud. I take it off road but its an everyday driver too, so I guess i will be better off without the resonator.

my research for my mustang led me to magnaflow as well. i never ended up doing exhaust so it will be a new project on this rover. xm, so you got an aluminim muffler...doesn't sound like a bad idea. you have a pic of you're undercarriage where you cut the exhaust and what not?

The Hooker AeroChamber has a good sound and flows really well. Haven't heard one on a Discovery though. I bought mine for cheap on Ebay. It would be worth checking out. There are several different configurations. Should be something to fit the Discovery. You may be able to find some sound clips on the web on different types of vehicles.

Heron; there's some shots on my cardomain page of me lifting the rearend of the DII in the air with one of my forklifts. You can get a good view of where I cut the pipe off.

Has anyone changed their exhaust manifold? It doesn't look like it has a very even pressure through out it, nor much room to expand out before it hits the pipe and combines with the rest of the exhaust. I figure it would be better to have more even headers with more time before it hits the exhaust pipe. Think that would make the engine breathe a little better and get you a bit more power?

once you load pictures there, you need to insert them on a page too in order for people to see them.

Make sure when you cut the resonator off that you weld on an exhaust tip with a turn down on it......Or you will melt your blinkers in the bumper!!!

Sadly.....I learned this from experience!!
