Default Exhaust leak

I have noticed that I have an exhaust leak on the driver's side. Atleast that what it sounds like. It stops after the engine gets to temperature. i have ordered a new manifold gasket and the y pipe gasket. has anyone else had to change these and how hard was it? A guy that I know, his manifold cracked and had to be replaced. I have tried to listen to see excatly where it is coming from but I can't tell.

Could be anything. My leak was the exhaust pipe broke where it bolts to the manifold. I just had it welded and never had a problem again. Break was due to broken motor mount.

Get a piece of heater hose about 2-4 feet long, then put it to your ear and move it around the exhaust. Should be louder when you get to the right spot.

You may also want to check for cat. converter issues. Mine had a clogged loose matrix inside one of the cat. converters and was breaking the gaskets on my pass. side manifold. Do you have a check engine light on? or do you happen to hear a rattling noise from under the truck??? It might be masked by the loud exhaust.
