Default exhaust manifold loose

I am looking for some advice on how to solve a recurring problem...

The three nuts which fasten the front exhaust pipe to the lower flange of the exhaust manifold get loose. I have re-tightened them over and over again and the leak stops only for a short time (maybe a couple weeks or so).

These are the remedies I have tried...
retighten all three while the engine is hot
retighten all three while the engine is cold
purchased new (deformed) exhaust nuts and re-set the studs
tried using thread locker (blue)
nothing seems to work.

Should I be looking towards other problems, like motor mounts or something which could be causing abnormal amounts of engine movement?

thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks Army. I am in the same boat, but there has to be a better solution than that. As you can probably tell, the gas mileage goes to hell and the power/throttle response sucks when the manifold is leaking.

Hopefully someone has a remedy or advice on this.....

You figure that those nuts would rust solid like every other one on the truck

Does anybody know how to properly diagnose engine mount failure?
I have a hunch this may be the issue. Maybe a bit too much movement!?!?
Seems like since the engine is supposed to move a bit, and the exhasut is supposed to float, there wouldn't be too much of an issue, but I'm not sure....just guessing here!

wimp easy way to see if it is the mount... is foot brake the truck witch means stand hard on the brakes and put it in drive... then give it stead gas till you feel the truck starting to move.. and have a freind look at the motor and see if it is lifting hard to the right if it is the a new mount is in order....

remove the studs and replace them, take them out when the truck is hot,

otherwise they may snap, if they snap you need to take off the manifold.

also get a 8mm stud remover/

Rovin...

You think the studs could be the cause of the problem? Why? just curious. I actually have new gaskets, studs, and nuts on the way already.

I would not have guessed the studs would be the problem. I also obtained new manifolds. My pass. side is cracked and while I am in there, I was going to do the driver's side too!. What is your opinion on the motor mount theory? how can I diagnose that?

thaks for the help
