Default Extended Warranty?

I'm about to pass the 50k mark in my Disco 2.
Where do I get an extended warranty and how much?
Should I get an extended warranty?

Yes. Absolutely: get the extended warranty.

Take the Disco to the dealership and get the most LR extended warrantly you can afford.

There are a couple of aftermarket warranties out there but you really should stay with Rover, it will be expensive, but call and shop it around thru a couple of Rover dealers.
Plan on spending close to $3000 for an extension but believ me it will pay for itself real fast.

Okie pay the extra money and go with the Rover extended warranty if you can. With everything that was done to my wifes' 2000 (not just the new frame they put on her truck) it was definately worth it!

Default Warranty info

If you cannot get the LR extended warranty try forum sponsor Warranties 4 Wheels. They shopped around and found a good one for my 2001 DiscoII. Covers most troublesome parts and systems. I've already had failing coil packs replaced under the policy.

yeah, definitely try to get the LR extended.. I got 86k miles for about $1200 a few years ago, and it's already more than twice paid for itself.

Get it! I didn't get one for my D2 and believe me, I could have bought 2 of them with the cost of the repairs I ended up getting stuck for.

Despite the problems I have had with Bob Moore in the past, I would pay them a visit. It has to be done within/before 1000k miles left on the truck's original warranty i.e 49,000 or less. Or call up Alyssa Brown and she should be able to get you a warranty. I have her email info, she is up in Mainline however she should be able to process the paperwork for you. Good Luck!

OMG

These are the prices I was quoted.
Bumper to Bumper
4 year 100k miles 5370$
3 year 75k miles 3216$

Major components
4 year 75k miles 2721$
3 year 85k miles 3050$

Power Train
3 year - 100k miles 2469$
4 year - 100k miles 2629$

I don't think I can afford any of those prices. There were some prices and tiers in between those as those were the top and bottom of each range.
I think I'll just trust in my abilities and save my money for repairs.
I was thinking something like 1500$, I guess I'm a cheap skate or unrealistic.

I am in the same boat as you are! I was looking at something like $3,700 for a warranty and I wasnt about to finance that or pay that out of pocket! I too will trust my ability to scrap up repair money when needed !

My D2 (the gold one you saw Eric) has 60K miles on it, with no issues yet. The only problem I had was with the driveshaft - front. It went out at 45K miles, just check it out! It will make a loud chirping noise....it will need new u-joints.

No one thinks of buying an extended warrantee when they buy their cars.

Such a waste. ITs amazing how cheap an extended warrantee is at zero miles.

I already have the drive shaft. I haven't had time to put it in yet.
And a sweet looking ride it is too!!

That is major cash! However I do actually recall that I had to have the rear main seal and the transfer case changed out under warranty last year at 47K miles on the 2002 D2. It seems like there was a 100.00 deductible too on top of the $3700. OUCH!

You still might want to call Alyssa Brown at Land Rover Mainline. I think she quoted me about $2700.00 last year plus the 100.00 deductible.

Thanks! I love that D2!
