Few Upgrade Questions

Just to go back to the 2nd part of your 1st question: I would say you definately want to upgrade yours suspension adding a bull-bar, roof rack, etc. You'll experience noticable sagging with your stock springs/shocks when you add the bull-bar. Since you're in Oz, OME seems a logical choice ?

Yeah I know it's not logical, I was just hoping to save some money with wishful thinking. The price of petrol has sky rocketed here, so i won't be putting the roof rack on now, and I think i'll just add a bull bar minus the winch. $1.35 per litre is killing me, I'm thinking twice about the whole set up unless i can find me a cheap little 4cyl to get me around.

Do yourself a favor and find a good used Ford KA or equivalent. Take the Disco off the road until you can afford to install the parts. Meantime if you can leave it in a place where you can get some practice then your good to go.

I got a friend in Melbourne as well and they told me its expected to top 1.40 for a litre of petrol. I am surprised you didn't buy the Diesel version. At least they get alot more.

Do not go to ARB to ask about springs as they will try to sell you heavy springs and shocks that you will not want. If you want the right springs, go to L R Automotive at Thomastown www.lrautomotive.com.au they have a good range and will recommend the correct ones for what you want. They will cost you about $200 for the front set. If you only want the winch for the very occasional emergency recovery, the Magnum is OK, but they will not last with any extended use. Had one, it lasted 18 months, now I have a Warn XP9.5. Your side steps will bend easily. There are cheaper and stronger ones around.

how do you change the power steering fluid ?
Where is the drain ?
Do you drain it completely, just like an oil change, close the drain plug and fill up or is there a different procedure ?
