Hi All,
A few days ago, my lastest sun-roof leak cause my dashboard to get flooded with rain-water. Now, when I turn the radio on it just says "CODE" on the screen, and wants me to enter a security code. Problem is, I'm the 2nd owner of the car, and don't have any of the codes. Any ideas what to do? Will Land Rover just hand over my code over the phone, and do they even keep a record of these? Or am I going to need a new radio, or is there any other way to bypass the code? Also, does anyone know what will happen if I type the code in wrongly too many times? If not, I could just try every combination, only 10,000 of them, should only take a few months ![]() |

Each dealer is different. Some will give you the code over the phone and others will make you come in and provide proof of ownership in the form of registration. Give your nearest a call and explain your situation. At worst you'll have to stop in to get the code. Hopefully, the radio was never changed out during the course of the vehicles life. If so, you'll need to get the serial number from the radio and the process for the dealer to acquire the code is a little be longer. Otherwise, it's simply a matter of typing in the VIN and the code comes right up.

Sorry to hear the challenges.
Soon after buying our preowend Disco, I also needed the code. I was told that a number of dealers will write it on the radiator top or in the front area under the hood. After hearing this I thought it rather defeats the purpose to make it so availabe, I prayed it would be there. I opend the hood and in black marker was a 4 didget # that worked. Thank the Lord. Maybe this will help. Good luck. Michael |

Thanks Paul.
It's actually all just worked out ok. I needed my V5C Registration Document to prove owenership, but, while digging this out of my filing cabinet I found stapled to my receipt a small hand-written scrap of paper that I've never seen before with the words "Radio Security Code : 5984" written on it! |

..and now also if I ever lose this scrap of paper, I can simply come back here and search the forum for my code
It would also prove useful if anyone ever wants to fly over here to England and steal my car. oops. |
