Hello:
I have a set of Hella aftermarket fog/driving lights mounted on the brush bar and they seem to come on for a short time then cut off. They are hooked up so that when the high beams come on & they are activated they will come on as well. Could the relay be bad as I have checked the switch and it appears to be fine or could it be the bulbs or something else? Thanks Jay |

1) bad earth 2) bad relay 3) bad live connection to highbeam! By chance did you use a scotch block to connect the 2 wires? Scotch block = one of those blue wire splicer clamp thingies! Sounds like your either getting an intermittant live or and intermittant earth. Unlikely to be the relay IMO.

My Hella did the same thing. They use a naked ground wire inside the assembly. It had shorted to the back of the lamp. Probably from a hard bump I hit.
I just wrapped it with electrical tape. Problem disappeared. |
