Here's a good one for you guys.
I would love to add substantial front recovery points to my Disco II. When I mean recovery points, I mean it. I want to snatch my truck with an F16 fighter jet with 100 feet of slack! When replacing my AC condensor, I took a good look at the nearest frame components and realized they are buried pretty deep. I considered fabricating a weldment which would essentially add a class 3 receiver which would come out of the bumper. Has anyone figured out a slick and BEEFY way to add these SUBSTANTIAL points to the front end? Hopefully a less invasive way? Thanks ![]() |

A bit more info on my current setup...
I have a Disco II brush bar and a front steering gear skid plate I am also against adding an ARB or similar winch bumper. I realize this will solve the problem, but this is still a daily driver and I can't change the appearance of the truck drastically. It still has to maintain its somewhat classy SUV appearance instead of looking too "Mad Max". Thanks ![]() |

I have investigated this as well. I would like recovery points on the front until I replace the stock bumper. As I understand it, the best you can do is get an aftermarket bumper. If you attach to the brush bar it will most likely take the brush bar right off.
By putting something akin to a receiver hitch in front is not a bad option although you would lose an awful lot of clearance/ entry angle up front. I have considered bolting recovery hooks to the frame and cutting holes in my bumper but was dissuaded by many who thought, and I agree, that putting too many holes in the frame that far forward is not a good idea.
