Default Front wheel bearing noisy???

Hi guy's!!

Well the trucks been good this winter but now the front left wheel bearing apears to be on the way out [tested the same way we test all wheel bearing when driving but have not confirmed it on the hoist]....

Question, can the bearings be replaced sepereratly [as per normal vehicles]??? or does one have to buy a assembly??? If they are standard HKS bearings, anyone know the number???

Thanks, Dean

You have to buy the whole hub assembly. Pretty pricey. Are the abs/tc/hdc lights on? If not and you think you have a noisey hub you may want to double check. The reluctor ring is inside the hub assembly and usually you'll get a fault WAY before the hub is noisy or even really showing any signs of failure. If you determine it is a hub or for whatever part you may need, call Will Tillery, tell him Walter sent you. 434-251-9331

Thanks, that's what i suspected....no lights yet as it's still the "just a noise" stage....i don't think there is any play in the hub yet, as you said, the lights would be on...

What I'm saying is that it may not be the hub. If it's at the noise stage it would probably be at the throwing faults stage. By all means check the hub but, don't discount other potential sources of noise. Check your brakes for unusual wear on the rotor. Could be a sticky caliper. Take a look around.

I hear you but if you do the swerve back and forth [lightly] you get the slight vib and faint rumble....tipical wheel bearing...

I'm going to switch to my summers soon and i will be able to rull out tires....but being a mechanic you kinda get a feel for things...and this is the early simtems of wheel bearing failure....

Here hoping....lol...

Will Tillery has low mileage front hubs. Approx. 4000 miles on them. I just got a rear one from him and it's like new.
